BANKS
Banks are open from Monday to Saturday from 8.30 till about noon. Closed on Sundays and Public holidays. Nearest bank – HSBC Bank or Bank of Valletta both situated at, 90, Republic Street Victoria.
BEACHES
Beaches and seas are safe. However, if you are new to Gozo, swim where the locals do.
CHURCH SERVICES
Roman Catholic churches are found all over the island. Mass is celebrated in Maltese, but however, service in English is celebrated at the Bishop’s Seminary in Victoria.
Remember, churches are places of worship. When visiting, show respect and wear appropriate attire. For more information on schedules available kindly contact our offices.
CLIMATE
The Maltese Islands have typical Mediterranean weather and it is recognized as one of the best climates in the world. The islands have a greater amount of sunshine than northern Europe and there is hardly a day that is not bathed in sunshine.

You may make copies of documents and send or receive faxes at the Marina office during office hours.
HEALTH CARE
Hospitals are modern and supported by a regional network of health centers. Visitors from EU members states should make sure that they have a European Health Insurance card. Polyclinics are open till 19:00 hrs for your service and the nearest one to the hotel is the Victoria Polyclinic. After closure, emergency service at the Gozo General Hospital. Always take your passport with you. Should you require medical attention, please contact our offices.
Pharmacies are denoted by a green cross. They are open from 09:00 till noon and like most shops close for a siesta. Some open on Sundays and public holidays, details of which will be found on the local papers.
INTERNET
Internet service is available through a Vodafone USB key, at a charge.

PETROL STATIONS & BUNKERING
There are only a few petrol stations in Gozo. Most of them are found in Victoria and a couple here at Mgarr Harbour. Opening hours 07:00 till 18:00 hrs. After closing hours, including Sunday’s and Public Holidays, stations operate self-service using Euro bank notes.
POSTAL SERVICE
Red post boxes are dotted around the island. You can also post your cards and letters at our marina office.
SHOPS
Most shops are open from 08:00 till Noon, close for a siesta and reopen from 16:00 till 19:00 hrs. On Sunday and Public Holidays most shops are closed.
SMOKING
In Malta, smoking is prohibited in public areas.
TIME
The Maltese timezone is Central European Time (CET) in Winter (GMT +1:00), and Central European Summer Time (CEST) in Summer (GMT +2:00); one hour ahead of the time in the UK.
